Allergy Awareness Week - People can be allergic to almost any food, but most food allergy reactions are caused by 8 foods - milk, egg, peanut, tree nuts, wheat, soy, fish and shellfish.  Sesame is becoming more common.  More than 40% of children with food allergies have experienced a severe allergic reaction such as anaphylaxis.  There is no cure for food allergies, but researchers are working hard to find a cause and cure.  Right now, the only way for someone with an allergy to stay safe is to NOT EAT the problem food.
