Announcements.

"Attention all girls interested in participating in Cross Country this fall.  There will be a brief, 15 minute meeting at the track near the field house this Thursday after school at 2:45.  All interested girls should plan on attending to get important information about our summer training and upcoming season.Please let coach Somerville know if you have any questions!  

This Friday Andrew Farrow, Megan Diulus, and Morgan Dobos traveled to Austintown to represent the Minutemen at the regional track and field championships.  Morgan Competed in the 1600 meter run where she ran a great race to end her season as a top 10 finisher in the Northeast Ohio Region.  Megan Diulus raced the 3200 meter run where she used an impressive finishing kick to secure 7th place overall and a spot on the podium!

Andrew Farrow kept things exciting with a series of impressive jumps in the high jump.  After equally his best jump of 6 feet 2 inches on his second attempt, it came down to his 3rd and final attempt at 6'3".  Andrew cleared that height to set a new personal best, but then quickly turned around and PR'd again at 6'4".  That's right, 6 feet, 4 inches!   This earned Andrew 5th place in the region and a trip to the Division 1 State Championships this Saturday! Way to go Andrew, Good luck this weekend! 

There will be an organizational meeting for all girls interested in playing tennis this fall!  It will be held today after school ( Tuesday, May 31 ) from 2:50- 3:30 in the cafeteria area. Please bring a  pen and your summer schedule! If unable to make it please let Coach Shisler know!
