Congratulations to junior wrestler Zayne Lehman for winning the 170 pound district tournament on Saturday and punching his ticket to the state tournament in Columbus this coming weekend. Zayne is one of only 16 wrestlers left in the state in division 2 at his weight. He will wrestle his first round match on Friday afternoon... be sure to wish him luck!
Congratulations to the symphonic band who earned an excellent rating and the wind ensemble earned a superior rating on Friday night at Firestone High School. The wind ensemble will perform at the state level at the end of April.
Congratulations to Alanna Ramsey who placed 11th in the shot put at the Div. 1 indoor state track and field meet over the weekend. Way to go Alanna!
Reminder, today is the first day of track practice. All athletes should be dressed and ready in the lobby near the auditorium at 3:00. The team will have a meeting there and then walk together to the track. Please let coach Somerville know if you have any questions.
Art Club is this Thursday, March 12, right after school in 217. We will be making friendship bracelets. Everyone is welcome.
CONGRATULATIONS to RHS sophomores Drake Du and Sanchita Chandran. Drake placed second in Ohio, and Sanchita third in Ohio, in Congressional Debate in the Ohio Speech and Debate Association's State Championship tournament on Friday and Saturday. Drake, Sanchita, and their teammates Claire Jimerson and Aditya Desai debated in chamber sessions for 13 hours on Friday and Saturday. There were 227 total competitors in Congressional Debate, and three of the TOP TEN finishers -- Drake, Sanchita, and Claire -- were all from Revere High School. Our whole Speech and Debate team placed among the Top 20 teams in Ohio, its best finish in modern history, and Revere also won a "School of Excellence" Award for debate competition. Congrats to all the members of our Talking Minutemen speech and debate squad.
THE VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM LOST A HARD FOUGHT BATTLE TO STATE RANKED ST. V. 57-69. ANDREW RIN N LED WITH 24 POINTS, GRANT SCHERLER 13 POINTS AND HUNTER DRENTH FINISHED WITH 12 POINTS. THE MINUTEMEN FINISHED THE SEASON 21-4 TYING THE SCHOOL RECORD FOR THE MOST WINS A SEASON. IT WAS THEIR 3 STRAIGHT DISTRICT FINALS APPEARANCE, 3RD STRAIGHT SUBURBAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP AND 61 WINS OVER THE PAST 3 YEARS. A SPECIAL THANK YOU GOES OUT TO ALL THE STUDENTS AND STAFF WHO SUPPORTED US THROUGHOUT THE SEASON!
