Revere Local Schools Names Tom Johnsen as New Revere Middle School Assistant Principal

Revere Local Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Tom Johnsen as the next Assistant Principal of Revere Middle School beginning with the 2026–2027 school year.

The Revere Local School District Board of Education officially approved Mr. Johnsen’s two-year contract during its regular meeting on May 19, 2026. He will officially begin his role on August 1, 2026, in preparation for the upcoming school year.

Mr. Johnsen brings more than two decades of educational experience and a strong commitment to building meaningful relationships with students, families, and staff.

His connection to Revere Local Schools began during his college years when he completed his student teaching experience within the district. That experience helped shape the foundation of his educational philosophy and career.

For the past 20 years, Mr. Johnsen has served as a Math teacher at Northwest Local Schools, where he became known for fostering positive relationships with students and creating a supportive learning environment focused on student growth and success.

Over the last three years, he has expanded his leadership experience by serving as both an Assistant Principal and Building Principal at Coventry Local Schools. In those roles, he remained dedicated to supporting students, collaborating with families, and building a positive school culture for both staff and students.

Mr. Johnsen shared that he is excited for the opportunity to return to Revere Local Schools and continue serving a community that played an important role in shaping his career in education.

The appointment follows the promotion of Mr. Bryan Petsche to Revere Middle School Principal after Dr. Oberhauser was named Director of School Performance earlier this school year.  These leadership changes will officially take effect for the 2026–2027 school year.

Revere Local Schools is excited to welcome Mr. Johnsen to Revere Middle School and looks forward to the leadership, experience, and student-centered approach he will bring to “The Place to Be.”
