Revere Local Schools Names Benjamin Kobus as New Athletic Director

Revere Local Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Benjamin Kobus as the District’s next Athletic Director, following the upcoming retirement of Athletic Director Don Seeker.

The Revere Local School District Board of Education officially approved Kobus’ two-year contract during its meeting on May 12, 2026. He will officially begin his role on August 1, 2026.  In preparation for the 2026-2027 school year, the Board also took action to approve Ben for up to five (5) additional days to help for a smooth transition into his new role.

Kobus is a student-centered educational leader who currently serves as the High School and Middle School Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Norwayne Local Schools. He began his professional career as a Spanish teacher at Ravenna Southeast High School, where he was actively involved in coaching football and softball. He later joined Mogadore High School’s football program as defensive coordinator, contributing to multiple regional championship game appearances.

A veteran of the United States Army, Kobus brings a strong foundation of leadership, discipline, and service to his work in education and athletics. He earned a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Ashland University and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Kent State University.

“Ben’s experience as an educator, coach, administrator, and veteran make him an outstanding choice to lead Revere Athletics,” said Superintendent Dan White. “Throughout the interview process, he demonstrated a strong commitment to students, leadership, and educational excellence. We are excited to welcome him to Revere and look forward to the positive impact he will have on our athletic programs and school community.”

The District also extends its sincere appreciation to Don Seeker for his years of dedicated service and leadership to Revere Athletics. His impact on countless student-athletes, coaches, families, and the broader Revere community will leave a lasting legacy throughout Minutemen Nation.
