All members of the RMS learning community can develop information literacy and lifelong learning skills. These skills are crucial to personal success and imperative to a functioning democracy in a modern information society. The best way for the RMS LMC to promote information literacy and lifelong learning skills is to be dynamic, enthusiastic and student centered.
The mission of the RMS LMC is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and informations and to support the Revere School District’s curriculum standards. This mission is accomplished:
- By providing intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats
- By providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing, and using information and ideas
- By working with other educators to design learning strategies to meet the needs of individual students.
The RMS LMC plays a unique and pivotal role in the learning community and is based on three central ideas: collaboration, leadership, and technology. This forms an essential link connecting students and teachers with the information resources they need to meet their goals.
