• Ms. Amy Fagnilli

I began teaching at Revere in 2005 and was moved to the English Department in 2019 after many long years teaching history.  I am also the Yearbook advisor and variety show advisor.  I have also served as the girls cross country coach, a track coach, NHS advisor, and volunteer pep assembly advisor. Prior to joining Revere, I spent four years teaching social studies in middle school.  I completed my undergraduate studies (2001) in the honors college at The University of Akron as a Buckingham Scholar, their most prestigious award, and graduated with degrees in History and English as well as having completed a study abroad year in England. In 2011, I completed a Masters in American History and Government at Ashland University with a James Madison Fellowship, a national award that enabled me to study at both Ashland and Georgetown.  I've also been the recipient of numerous prestigious National Endowment for the Humanities fellowships, the most recent of which enabled me to study World War One at Hood College during the summer of 2019.

About our class: In Comp 11 ELA we will study American Literature chronologically, learn vocabulary using an online program, and practice  our writing informally every week and every so often formally for more rigorous grading. Discussion and journaling will be a key component of our class.  Juniors are expected to write a research paper and a persuasive writing piece along with other key forms of writing.  Speaking of papers, we are attempting to be a paper… less class in which we use tech to replace as much paper as possible. All assignments will be posted on our Google classroom and students are expected to check the classroom everyday.  Assignments that are graded will also be posted on Progress Book.
