Color Guard Instructor: Savanna Soto
Savanna was in the flag line at her high school for 2 years. She taught with St. Edwards high school for 2 years and then at Brunswick high school for 1 year. Ms. Soto marched for 11 years, in the independent winter guard “The Rangerettes” and is now on staff with them. She is studying to become a teacher, looking more into students with special needs. She is also studying sign language, and hoping to have her degree within the next year. She loves teaching guard and showing students that they can do anything they put their minds to. She loves when students come to practice and are able to show her a toss that they’ve been working on or a part of the show that they now get and want to show her. She hopes to spread the love of guard and performance to as many students as she can. Ms. Soto will be assisted by her create team: Sara Meng, Jeanne Taylor, Leslie Deshane
Front Ensemble/Percussion Instructor: Tanner Bittinger
Tanner is from Apollo, Pennsylvania where he attended Kiski Area High School, and he is super excited to start his teaching career with Revere! He is currently a sophomore music education major at Kent State University, where he participated in Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble. He also marches in WGI with Matrix. Mr. Bittinger will be spending this summer on tour with the Phantom Regiment participating in DCI in the best capacity they can! He currently is still exploring exactly what his career will be, but he hopes to be able to teach his own percussion ensemble and still remain involved in the marching arts! He wants to teach students specifically because he loves to see the growth they have, as well as seeing them realizing that they have grown. He hopes that his students can use music as an escape from everyday stress, and that they feel that they can be themselves within their music!
Battery/Percussion Instructor: James Moss
James attended Amherst Steele High School Marching Band 2014-2017 (1 year on bass 3, 3 years on snare drum), Amherst Indoor Drumline 2014-2017 (1 year on bass 5, 3 years on snare) He has been a battery instructor at Barberton High School in 2019, battery instructor at Copley High School in 2020, bass instructor with Matrix A in 2021. Mr. Moss is a senior architecture student at Kent State University completing my Bachelor of Science in Architecture this spring and pursuing his Master of Science in Architecture in the upcoming fall. Some future goals after graduation would be to achieve my license as an official architect and work for a local firm pursuing excellence in design theory and incorporating what he had have learned at Kent State University into the real world environment. James has marched with Matrix Open 2018, White Sabers Drum and Bugle Corps 2018, Matrix World 2019-2021, Legends Drum and Bugle Corps 2019, Phantom Regiment 2020, and he is currently signed up to march Phantom Regiment 2021.
He would like to continue my teaching career at Revere in order to maximize my impact on the marching arts. He would like to see the progression as students take their passions to the next level and he looks forward to sharing what he has learned throughout the marching activity with the students at Revere to pursue the highest excellence.
