Superintendent's Message

  • We are now in countdown mode for the opening of the new Revere High School.  With just seven months to go, there is much to plan, as packing, moving and demolishing the current structure are on the horizon.  In September 2020, students in classes at the new RHS will walk through its doors for the first time.

The district has been in a whirlwind of activity ever since the bond issue, or Issue 45, passed in November 2016.  With construction of the new Bath Elementary, RHS and bus garage; along with renovations at Revere Middle School and Richfield Elementary, it has both exhilarating and exhausting to get everything finalized.  I am proud of our district staff, which has been incredibly flexible amid parking challenges, classroom changes and construction noise.

Prior to this summer, we will be announcing several dates for final tours of the current RHS.  We want our community members and alumni to be able to see RHS one last time before demolition begins over the summer months.

We anticipate a Grand Opening Celebration at the beginning of September, with a date and time to be selected in the coming weeks.

As always, I want to thank the community for its support and patience.  I think you will be proud of the new buildings and improvements that have taken place throughout the district for many years to come.

    Matthew L. Montgomery
