Drafting & Design

  • (1 Semester) - Students learn about drafting standards, drafting equipment and 2D AutoCAD in order to create engineering drawings.  Students work individually and collaboratively to create: sketches, hand-drawn mechanical drawings and 2D AutoCAD drawings.  Students learn about the engineering design process and work in collaborative teams to apply science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) to solve problems.  Students design, build, test and evaluate 1 hands-on project.   The curriculum was created to ensure that students with varying learning styles and levels can accomplish the classes’ goals and objectives.


    Prerequisite/Student Readiness Consideration: Successful completion of ALGEBRA I or concurrently enrolled in the course is RECOMMENDED, however no prior experience is required.
