    About our program:

The Revere Local Schools Integrated Preschool Program is an early childhood program for children with disabilities and typically developing peers between the ages of 3 and 5 years. Integrated preschool classes are primarily for children who require special education programming.

Children are identified as having an educational disability through a multi-factored evaluation which consists of a play-based assessment performed by the Revere preschool team. The team consists of a School Psychologist, Early Childhood Intervention Specialist, Speech-Language Pathologist, Physical Therapist, and Occupational Therapist. Children with disabilities in our program have a wide range of needs including communication, motor (fine and/or gross), vision, hearing, cognition, adaptive behavior (self-help skills), and/or social/emotional/behavioral functioning.

Typically developing peers (peer models) are selected through a screening process that identifies peers who demonstrate strong skills in the areas of social communication, play, adaptive behavior (self-help skills), fine and gross motor, and pre-academics. Peer models are enrolled in the preschool programs to ensure strong and appropriate peer modeling of the skills our children with special needs are working to develop. This inclusion model is an optimal method of teaching children with disabilities.

Students with and without disabilities benefit from this philosophy, as the classes provide a rich, language-based curriculum with a multi-sensory, developmental approach to teaching. The Revere Local Schools Integrated Preschool Program uses the Assessment, Evaluation, and Programming System for Infants and Children (AEPS) which is a curriculum aligned to the Ohio Department of Education’s Early Learning and Development Standards.

    Location:

The Revere preschool program is located at Richfield Elementary School.

    Hours:

We operate two classrooms 4 days per week: Monday – Thursday. Each classroom has a 2.5 hour morning session and a 2.5 hour afternoon session.

    • Morning session is 9:00 am - 11:30 am
    • Afternoon session is 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm

    Ratio:

We currently follow an 8:1 ratio of students to teachers, with up to 8 students with special needs and 8 peers in each class. This means that a class may have up to 16 total students with at least 2 adults (1 teacher and 1 paraprofessional) per class.

    Routine:

Classes maintain structure and routine while providing preschoolers with opportunities for multisensory and play-based learning activities. Routines typically include tabletop activities (fine motor, crafting/art, and pre-academics), circle time activities (attendance, calendar, weather, whole group instruction), play centers (enhancing play skills, social skills, and integrated learning), sensory exploration, music, gross motor movement (gym, dancing, stretching), story time (including library), snack time, etc.

    Tuition and Fees:

Tuition for the 2022-2023 school year is $1500 and the supply fee is $30 (if paid monthly) or $1400 and a supply of $30 (if paying in full). Tuition is required for Peer Models only.

Step Up to Quality and Licensing:
